A Message from the President
I have seven years of coaching experience and have coached over 60 students across Canada and the United States with great success.
I am currently ranked 10th in Canada in the 3×3 Fewest Moves event, with a result of 25 moves. At my peak, I was ranked in Canada’s top 50 in two events—7×7 Cube (#47) and 3×3 Fewest Moves (#10)—and the top 100 in four events—5×5 Cube (#67), 6×6 Cube (#51), 7×7 Cube (#47), and 3×3 Fewest Moves (#10). My current rankings can be found here, and my peak rankings can be found here.
I have participated in the 2019 and 2025 Canadian Championships, the 2022 North American Championship, and the 2023 US Nationals—at the time, the largest competition ever held, with 1,028 competitors. I placed 11th at FMC Canada 2025, the Canadian Championship for the 3×3 Fewest Moves event, and 2nd at my venue.
A lot of this experience came from slow, meticulous learning, trial-and-error, and deliberate analysis of every aspect of my solving. This gives me a clear picture of the optimal way to learn how to cube. Combined with my prior experience as a mathematics tutor, I can present these ideas clearly and engagingly. From my relationships with many of the country’s top speedcubers, I am confident that you will not find a service in Waterloo Region that exceeds my level of experience, both as a speedcuber and a teacher.
In 2026, I expanded Waterloo Cube Academy to include more coaches with different areas of expertise.
